Scope of Works
The programme of works included the passive fire stopping of newly installed and existing services and apertures to achieve fire ratings stated on fire drawings provided by the client. All works were carried out during regular day time hours during the university summer closure.
Work areas that were still under occupation by faculty and summer students were pre-arranged with Alphas client and the building management, to ensure they could be completed with no disturbance to either the students or faculty , and to ensure the highest level of health and safety compliance could be maintained.
Approach
The project had a significant amount of existing works that had either not had any fire stopping measure installed in the past, had been damaged, or incorrectly installed. Because of this issue, Alpha ran two separate OneTrace firestopping Apps to record the works on. One app for the existing works , and one app for the newly installed works.
Alphas client was happy with this process as it easily identified each completed penetrations individual costing, and identified if the penetration was an existing or newly installed service.
Outcome
Alpha completed the passive fire protection programme on time , with the highest standards of compliance and workmanship. The client was also impressed with the two separate project reports passed over on completion.
