Alpha were initially contacted by Consortia via a reference from another site manager Alpha had provided there services to in the past on a number of other projects. Consortia were looking for a reliable, compliant service provider, with great record keeping for there project, and Alpha were highly recommended by one of there new colleagues from past experience of working together.
Approach
We attended site to assess the works first hand in order to provide a comprehensive quote, we believe hands on site visits help to obtain a greater feel for each individual projects specific needs.
Alpha were provided with the existing drawings and kindly shown the works by the site manager. While on site it was clear to see that the drawings were out dated and were missing areas, and items, that in modern day passive fire protection terms required attention.
We provided Consortia with a quote based on the original drawing, and for the additional works on which we picked up on during our visit. On a separate visit made by Building Control, they also picked up on the additional areas and items that Alpha had a few weeks prior.
Outcome
After consultation between, Consortia’s management and design team, building control, and Alpha, the original drawings items and the new additional works picked up on during the original site visit were accepted, and quote agreed.
The works were completed on time and recorded using the OneTrace firestopping App, Alpha also ran a separate OneTrace record of the acoustic works carried out at the same time as the firestopping requirements in order to keep costs of the works separate for our client as requested.
Alpha also requested an official site audit of installation by our accreditors the IFC in order to provide our new client with complete peace of mind that the project was completed to full compliance and that the highest standards were met.
