Scope of Works
The programmes of works included the installation of Siderise CW-FS Firestop Cavity Barrier from newly installed façade to existing compartment floors. During the project multiple access mediums were required in order to access the work areas, including mobile aluminium towers, fixed scaffolding, and MEWPS.
A close work pattern was kept between Alpha, there client, and the façade installers to ensure the highest safety and compliance was kept throughout the project in order for the windows to be installed on time. Alpha also requested an audit from the IFC accreditation board on the project, to ensure the client and building owners that the installation of the cavity barrier was being installed to full compliance and by competent trained operatives.
Approach
The programme was carried out during school opening hours. This meant the safety of the students, the faculty, and visitors was priority. All works areas were pre agreed with clients prior to starting, works areas were loaded out with material before school opened in the morning to ensure they could be transported to work area with no hazard to any passersby. All materials and tools were then removed and securely locked away of site at the end of each work day.
Outcome
The installation of the Siderise CW-FS was completed on time, and full detailed records of completion were passed to the client for there records. The client thanked Alpha on completion for keeping to the strict health and safety requirements that are needed when working in an open environment around faculty and students.
